This professionally recorded DVD contains three chapters: the first shows the materials you need and slowly demonstrates vital techniques. The second teaches you how to paint Loose Amaryllis. The third teaches the painting Austere Winter. Go at your own pace as, step-by-step, you paint these two beautiful paintings utilizing a variety of techniques, both loose and tight. WHIMSICAL ANIMALS: GREETING CARDS

The class will be a series of five meetings starting Sept 16 on five consecutive Wednesday mornings through Oct 14 from 9:00 to noon.
The Whimsical Animals Greeting Card Class features seven delightful cards offering a variety of watercolor techniques and a bit of mixed media (for free I will provide any materials that are outside the traditional watercolor ones). You'll also get a list of suggestions for captions to include on your cards that relate to the paintings we will do of cats, giraffes, dogs, raccoons, birds, fish, and rabbits,. These cards are suitable for mailing, or duplicating, or framing. See two samples pictured.

SPLATTER GRAPES

One of my favorite paintings, Splatter Grapes uses wild wet-in-wet washes, emerging techniques, and finally composition principles to create a fabulous painting suggesting hanging clusters of luscious ripe grapes. We will integrate the white of the paper into the design. Each painting will be very differnt from the others. See one sample pictured.

This unique class will teach you watercolor techniques, collage techniques (paper provided by me), composition principles, and how to work with acrylic Posca pens (provided by me), and inks. Choose your colors and paint your collage paper. You may add some colored inks (provided by me). With guidance, you'll compose a floral design to be fashioned from the collage pieces. The painting will be completed with watercolors, acrylic Posca pens, and inks. The picture shows one sample; your design may vary.

This lovely painting hovers between realism and fanciful design. It offers you a different learning experience as you paint realistic seashells entangled with geometric patterns that add complexity and charm. Choose your own color palette. We'll combine the watercolors with the use of permanent ink from Micron pens.
